Our heritage is what makes Britain ‘British’ and encompasses our language, politics, customs and landscapes, our economic, industrial, military and cultural history and, of course, our art, design and architecture.

For insurance purposes, however, we define heritage predominantly in terms of physical assets. Where buildings are concerned, heritage is defined as

    •    any building built prior to 1900
    •    any listed building
    •    any building located within a conservation area
    •    any post-1900 building of special architectural interest, whether listed or not.

In addition to buildings we can also arrange bespoke insurance solutions for museum or art collections, even if these are not housed in ‘heritage’ buildings.
